I realize it’s a little quiet here, but things are very busy here in the basement. The big push for full fundraising is underway and like all fundraising in tough times – there is bad news but good news on the horizon. The quiet is because I’m in the middle of the final weeks [...] One of my fav blogs, Wandering Space, has posted news on the new forthcoming Outside In clip. It’s online and ready for viewing, but as reward for those who have been supporters of the film – they get to see it first. You can be a Team 11 member starting at just $1 a month, tax-deductible. Much more coolness like this coming as production on the film moves forward. And here’s [...] Fractured Atlas is an amazing organization that I found when I needed fiscal sponsorship (a way for Outside In to be officially not-for-profit). Today, Outside In is the featured member of the week. See the story here. Thanks a bunch to Emily Bowles for doing a great job on the profile and to Fractured [...] “Cosmos” by Carl Sagan changed my life and led directly to “Outside In”. The TV series (on which the book was based) is now completely available on Hulu, so now no excuses for not watching the series again (or for the first time). Watch
This is a must see – amazing images of “northern lights” from Saturn. I have no idea yet if any of this can be incorporated into “Outside In” but very cool nonetheless. http://saturn.jpl.nasa.gov/video/videodetails/?videoID=198 NASA does very cool things like repairing Hubble and of course the Cassini mission, Mars Rovers and more. But one of the initial inspirations behind “Outside In” was NASA’s very lame “Why Saturn” page from several years ago at the beginning of the mission. I can’t find it now, they have at least improved [...] Cool video about Earth having rings (and probably no moon) like Saturn. OUTSIDE IN TEASE (this has an interesting connection to a shot in (“Outside In”) Thanks to Universe Today for the heads up. It’s November 11th – the 11th day of the 11 month. As you may realize, I’ve set a target completion date of 11.11.11 for the film and announced a “Team 11″ funding effort to help meet this goal. I hoped to have a new site and teaser up today, but alas I got quite [...] Just got the survey data from screening “Outside In” at the Giant Screen Cinema Association Expo last month. Basically, each IMAX, IMAX Dome etc. is an seperate operation and individually books their films – nothing like the way the regular film business works with big studios and big theater chains.
